50B PROCESS
- File CV-306 (this form) with Clerk of Superior Court
- Request ex parte hearing — same day if emergency
- Judge may issue temporary ex parte DVPO
- Defendant served by sheriff
- 10-day hearing scheduled for both parties
- Court may enter permanent DVPO (up to 1 year, renewable)

N.C.G.S. § 50B-1(b) — Chapter 50B applies to persons who:
- Are or were spouses
- Lived together as spouses (opposite sex)
- Share a child in common
- Are parent/child or grandparent/grandchild
- Are/were household members
- Have/had a personal relationship (dating)
