SERVICE BY PUBLICATION — REQUIREMENTS

Publication service is LAST RESORT — must first attempt personal service at all known addresses
Must perform a "diligent search" including DMV, voter registration, social media, last employer, relatives, neighbors
Must publish once per week for 3 successive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in the county
Attach the publisher's affidavit proving publication to this affidavit
Defendant served by publication has 40 days to respond from last publication date
Default judgment against a publication-served defendant requires judge's review and specific findings
