REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • (1) Original will — do not file a photocopy
  • (2) Death certificate — certified copy from Vital Records
  • (3) Filing fee — approx. $120 base + $6/page for the will (G.S. 7A-307)
  • (4) This application — completed and signed
  • File at Clerk of Superior Court in the county of domicile
  • Bring valid photo ID
  • Letters typically issued same day
