Bring the original Will (if testate) — do not file a copy
Bring decedent's death certificate (certified copy)
Bring photo ID for the executor/administrator
Letters issue same day in most NC counties

TESTATE vs. INTESTATE

Testate — decedent left a valid Will; executor named in Will applies for Letters Testamentary
