SUMMONS SERVICE RULES

  • Summons must be served at least 5 days before the hearing date
  • Sheriff service: contact the county sheriff's civil process office
  • Certified mail: use USPS Certified Mail with return receipt
  • Keep a copy of the summons and proof of service
  • Bring proof of service to the magistrate's hearing

DEFENDANT'S RIGHTS
