DEFENDANT'S RIGHTS
- Tenant has the right to appear and contest the ejectment at the hearing
- Tenant may pay all past-due rent before judgment to stop eviction
- If absent, judgment may be entered by default
- Tenant may appeal to District Court within 10 days of magistrate's judgment
- Appeal requires a bond (typically 1-2 months rent)
