- Request as early as possible — certified interpreters may need 2–3 weeks to schedule
- Court-certified interpreters are required in criminal cases and termination of parental rights proceedings
- For civil cases, certified interpreters are strongly preferred
- Attorney-provided interpreters are NOT acceptable for in-court proceedings
